The Time Has Come!

All my children!

I have been given an opportunity for a lifetime. I wish my mother could see it. Rest in peace, Mom. I’m going to have my first public sale! My job has been so kind to do a Spring Market where we show off our wares! I’m so nervous and excited! I want to thank my mother for teaching me this craft and encouraging me to go out there bravely and face the world with my artwork.

Taking the road less traveled

Robert Frost’s poem has stuck with me since yesterday morning. As I heard a colleague recite this poem from memory, I was reminded of how it felt growing up being the different one. I was always into something that not many people were into. I used to be ashamed of being me. I was ashamed of who I indeed was as a person. Since taking that road to dare to be who I am, I have seen the beauty it had in store.

It took guts to do that. Now, I’m about to take another road I tried to travel, yet this opportunity gently nudged me right at the turning point. Thanks to my supportive family and friends who have coached me up until this point, I decided to run down its path. I kept seeing different things that showed me that if I believe in myself, I can handle whatever lay on the road.

Running the marathon

I intend on running at full force and taking whatever life has for me. I learned that marathon running takes months of training, and that as you go, you don’t burn all your energy at once. That would be a painful 26 miles to run. Instead, I need to pace myself. I will learn from my mistakes and misunderstandings, and I will take pride in all the gains I have in this arena. I am a starting out entrepreneur, and I’m learning a lot about this industry.

Emily, thinking about life…

I do plan to continue with my content creation. After all, I enjoy educating people, which I naturally do. It can get annoying, but I see the gifts I have and how they have helped many. I’m still learning about video editing as well as sound and lighting. I will post my next video soon. I’m awaiting the summer months! Vacation time! Perhaps before then, actually. I appreciate those of you watching them and taking a chance at crocheting. Keep on making beautiful things!

The store is opening back up soon!

Oh, not like next month. That is too soon for me! I am crocheting some inventory because my store will be a seasonal store. Not as in the four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. I will have seasons of merchandise to sell. They will be the only of their kind and will come in small bursts. Stay tuned and keep viewing the site!

Knitting and Embroidery

I will be getting back into knitting, and I’ll be taking up a new hobby. Embroidery is quite interesting to me. I learned a little back when I was a wee lass. My mom and I were learning it together, and I think I kept pricking my finger and getting frustrated. I think that’s why I stopped for decades. Now that I think of it, I think I was just impatient. I have since developed a record amount of patience. I also feel this was how I was treating knitting. I kept getting frustrated when I missed a stitch.

Well, it’s time to iron out that wrinkle and learn. I tell my learners that if they get frustrated, put their project down, walk away, and return to it when ready. I’ve put knitting and embroidery on the back burner long enough. I’m coming back, baby! I shall improve my skills in knitting and embroidery, and yes, I will be adding those wares to the store. I also believe in mixing up your style, so I shall mix knitting, embroidery, and crocheting together. I shall make beautiful crafts with this.

Before I go…

I want to say that I am proud of myself because of everything I have been through, it had made me stronger. I will continue to crochet my heart out till I get sick of it…then keep going!

I thank you all for visiting my blog, and I hope that as you read my story, you get inspired to do something you held back on doing.
